The Daily Mail gave Sakho a 6.5 yesterday. Clueless.

Has kicked on again his season and much of it is due to our change in playing style. A classic example of Sam not playing to the strengths of his team last season.

I just think we end up arguing over something pointless if we nit-pick every last phrase. I didn't mean to imply anyone else was claiming he was a superstar. What I ultimately mean by top class is just not relevant to the point I was making (which was about his drive and commitment). Carroll was seen as the very clear number one striker at the club in the previous two seasons - I don't think there's anything controversial in admitting that.

You think he's a real top striker, then great, I hope you're right. I don't think he's in that class, then it's just an opinion - I don't see why anyone has to take that as an insult. The point of the thread is to praise his form, on which there is no disagreement.

Great to have a decent striker again

He was shouting and pointing at midfielders to run and chase with him, which they did.

Can't remember a time when I've so many players I really like.

Aguero is dirty cheating little cunt, spent the whole game falling over. Wouldn't want him in the C&B, even if we got him for free.

Re: Sakho......
You say he's not top class.....so what do you call top class???
My idea of top class is the strikers I've mentioned world class is your aguero RVP in his prime Henry you say you could say he's a superstar but that would be a lie implying that others are claiming he's a superstar

And it would only not be controversial to say Carroll is better if you never seen either play.....

Sakho would have scored a hatrick for Man City yesterday.

I hope you're right.

My posts on this thread were meant only as praise. I've posted many times what I think of Sakho in terms of ability, and I've praised him as a signing and as a player for us. My only intention was to give credit to a player I see giving absolutely everything on the pitch.

I never mentioned Aguero. I never claimed that anyone was claiming Sakho was at that level. I don't think it's controversial at all to say that Carroll would be considered the better player on paper - indeed under Allardyce there was no debate whatsoever. My whole argument was that Sakho has absolutely earned the right to be considered first choice at this time.

He's getting better and better.

Holds the ball up brilliantly, nicks a goal, strong in the air and works his fucking nuts off. Been one of our best players so far this season.

Re: Sakho......
Alex I don't think with even the amount of loons on here anyone would claim he's in agueros class as he's probably in the top five strikers in the world
Is he up there with the likes of Kane lukaku bony........IMO he's up there
In fact I'd be happy to bet he'll score more than Kane
And the fact you think Carroll is better means your either on a wind up or your on the level of fordy football knowledge

Jelavic has already played for Hull in the cup so he is cup tied.

Re: Sakho......
He is always in good positions and is getting better every week, if I have one complaint it would be he could be more
clinical when on goal but even that I think will improve.
Sakho Is intelligent hard working very positive and full of ability not 100% the full article but someone capable of getting 15-20 goals if the chances are created and maybe even more , a brilliant brilliant buy.

Re: Sakho......
I want to give him a medal after every game - he works so hard. Deserves a rest against Leicester and it'll be interesting to see if Bilic goes for Carroll or Jelavic.

Had Jenkinson dinked it rather than tried to hit it across the floor Sakho would have had 2.... worked his bollox off again. He works so hard for the team, that's his role but he seems to revel in that!

Re: Sakho......
If you look closely when Sakho nipped in and nearly made it three it was going in, but Hart deflected it with his leg, excellent save. The commentator on MOTD made it sound as if he had put it wide, but Hart did.

Sakho's all round play is brilliant, our best striker at the moment.

Absolutely ruined the arse cb's first game- Monday I think he won everything against collocinio.

Proper proper footballer

Re: Sakho......
The sky sports analysis after the game pointed out how he tracked back and nullified their full back on the 80 min Mark.

That is part of the game that is so crucial in winning away at places like this.

Proper workhorse is Sakho..and to think we could of had debtor strolling and posing about on the halfway line!
